Applewood offers seminars for adult children of active seniors
FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ¯Applewood Estates, CentraState’s active, continuing care retirement community, is sponsoring a seminar, “Understanding Today’s Retirement Living Options,” on Thursday, February 25, 6 p.m. and Saturday, March 6, 10:30 a.m. at Applewood Estates, One Applewood Drive. The free informational seminar is for adult children of active senior parents.
“Today, there are several distinct types of retirement living options besides active adult communities,” says Sheri Van Orden, director of marketing and sales, Applewood Estates. “It is important for adult children to understand the difference between the various types of communities and services provided so they can partner with their parents in making a plan for the future.”
The seminar will offer descriptions and the financial aspects of various retirement living options including active adult, independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and continuing care. There will be a question and answer period at the end of the seminar. Printed informational materials will be available for participants.
Various studies have proven that seniors residing in a retirement community environment live longer, healthier and happier lives due to the variety of stimulating activities, regular social interaction and relief from the stress of home maintenance.
There is no fee to attend the event but registration is required. Light refreshments will be served. To register or for more information, visit www.applewoodestates.com
Applewood Estates is a non-profit, continuing care retirement community offering apartments and cottages for active, independent seniors and assisted living services and skilled nursing care, if ever needed. It is part of the CentraState Healthcare System which is a member of the Robert Wood Johnson Health Network. ###
